So this is life...

Harry Potter

So, last night I went to the midnight showing of Harry Potter, which is the first midnight showing I’ve ever been to.  I’m probably never going to do it again.  Not because I disliked having to wait in line for hours before getting seated, or the fact that I went to bed at 3:30 and had to get up for class the next morning.  But because watching it the minute it came out made it feel like it was over too soon.  It’s like with christmas.  The moments leading up to christmas are the best, then christmas day comes, ends, and that’s it, you have to wait another year.  We’ve all been so excited to see Harry Potter, I feel like watching it on the first day kind of ruined the excitement for me.  Like, this one thing I had been waiting for for a while, and now, that’s it.  I watched it, it’s done, now wait 8 months for the next one.  This is why I don’t like midnight showings.  I like putting off a movie for a while so that I can stay excited for the moment when I’m gonna watch it, cuz to be honest, the build-up to the moment is more fun than the actual passing of it.  Now, I saw the movie, and there’s nothing to be excited for for a while.  If I had put it off for a few weeks, then I could have still had those few extra weeks to be like, “Omg, I’m so excited for when I get to watch Harry Potter!!”  But that’s just me.

Also, I feel like I’ve missed out on so much by not reading the Harry Potter books while growing up.  I mean, I’d wiki them and whatnot, but it’s not the same.  So, I’ve decided that, beginning with winter break, I’m going to read all 7 books before part 2 of the seventh movie.  That way, I can legitimately say I’m a true Harry Potter fan.  I know that’s an unconventional way of doing it, but oh well.  I’ll prolly skip the first book, since that’s the one I started and the first page, first paragraph of that book was the reason I never read a single book after that (it was too boring).  But it’s never too late to change all that!
